A former competitive 100m sprinter who calls New Zealand home, Sam has led corporate, SME and Startup businesses around the globe for over 20 years. Starting in New York City, then moving to the Caribbean, London, and now Dubai, Sam has led teams of up to 150 across the Manufacturing, Hospitality, Media and Tech sectors. This background has led to a fascination with human and team performance, areas in which Sam completed research and study at some of the worlds leading universities, including: The University of Edinburgh: MSc In Performance Psychology The University of Oxford: PGdip in Organisational Leadership Henley Business School: PG Cert in Coaching, Behaviour Change and Professional Certificate in Team, Board and Systemic Coaching In 2019, Sam founded the management consultancy, Braver Leaders. At Braver Leaders, Sam and his team work with companies experiencing growing pains to build them a connected, high-functioning leadership team. The Braver Leaders mission? Building Psychological Safety: Creating High-Performance Teams

Sam talks candidly about his own mental health struggles, to actively create safety with the audience. This simple act, of showing people how to actually create safety, builds trust and engagement with the audience. Sam then dives deep into the why behind psychological safety, but importantly also backs it up with further tools and techniques required. This engaging talk gives people an experience, leaving them feeling connected to one another, but also empowered to utilise the tools in their own setting or organisation.
