Phil. Lic. Ilkka Hendolin works as a Lead Expert in EduCluster Finland. His expertise focuses on adapting best Finnish educational practices to international contexts and promoting professional development in educational communities. He has built his expertise in education working as a physics teacher and a researcher of education at the University of Helsinki Physics Department. Working with a variety of teachers and students has given him a deep perspective on how to successfully implement new teaching methods and how to commit both teachers and students to reformed educational practices. At EduCluster, he generates solutions for taking the Finnish educational model to new locations around the globe and manages school set-up projects. Outside of the academia he has long-ranging experience in working with children of different ages at various informal learning environments. In his free time, he promotes public understanding of science as a freelance science journalist.
