Saudi Arabia to grant women nursery licences

The Saudi social affairs ministry is set to issue next week licences for Saudi women to operate nurseries, Saudi Gazette has reported.

The move is based on a set of rules developed jointly by the ministries of social affairs, education, interior, labour, and municipal and rural affairs. It aims to put an end to unlicensed nurseries that are seen unsuitable for providing such care. The ministry has not fixed a cap for nursery fees and has instead left it to nurseries to decide based on market forces.
