The opening ceremony was attended by Dr Issa Mohammed Bastaki, president of the University of Dubai, Mohammed Saad Eddin, head of Juma Al Majid Group and Chief Finance Officer, Hikmat Beaini, manager, marketing, communication and students recruitment marketting department at University of Dubai, a representative of HSBC Bank as a shareholder in the construction of the new branch, and a group of notable men in Dubai and Sharjah. 

 

The ceremony started with Farhat welcoming the guests and addressing the achievements of Juma Al Majid in the field of education.

 

During the opening ceremony, Bastaki thanked His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his efforts in supporting the educational process and for his continuous support to all people in the field. Baskati also thanked Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, for his unlimited support for science and education. 

 

Baskati revealed a memorandum of understanding between the University of Dubai and National Charity Schools whereby the university will accept excellent-scoring graduates of the schools.

 

The representative of HSBC Bank spoke highly of the bank’s achievements and contributions in the field of education.

 

Post that, a group of students from the school sang a song welcoming guests, who then took a tour of the school and interacted with some students.

 

At the end of the ceremony, the guests had a light breakfast in the school hall of  events. 

 

It is worth mentioning that the new building accommodates approximately 700 students of the eighth, ninth and tenth class, and organisers hope that the number of students enrolled would increase for work to start in double shifts, as currently there is only the morning shift.

 

National Charity Schools were founded in 1983, and began with two schools in the area of Deira in Dubai, and in 1986, the two schools were moved to separate buildings in Al Garhoud in Dubai. 

 

Under the auspices of Juma Al Majid, other branches were opened in Sharjah and Ajman. 

 

 

National Charity Schools apply the Ministry of Education curricula and are aiming to provide learning opportunities for the children of low and middle income families as well as affordable ones.
