MoE Intends to form a team of specialists to correct the international tests

The Ministry of Education plans to form a team of specialists within the country to correct the international tests PISA, PERLS, and TIMSS according to international standard.

Aisha Ghanim, Director of Evaluation and Examination in the MoE said that the Ministry of Education announced for workers in the public and private schools who reside and work in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman and are interested in participating in the following subjects: Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics, and Science to fill out a form either in Arabic or English through the MoE’s website www.moe.gov.ae

She said that the form contains: personal data of the applicant, the subject and grade they teach and years of experience. She also pointed out that the Department of Evaluation and Examination will consider all applications, the applicant will go through a training course and a test to measure their level so they can be nominated for the required work.

Aisha Al Ghanim said that the MoE will start the three international tests this academic year and wants to form teams of specialists to correct the results. She also pointed out that last year the Arabic language test was correct in the UAE, while some where corrected electronically, and the English language was corrected abroad.

She stated that the MoE plans to choose the specialists so they can continue correcting the Arabic Language tests in the Dubai Correction Center, and the MoE is also evaluating the applications to see if it’s possible to correct the English Language test within the country too.

The MoE recently launched an intensive awareness campaign, which in its first stage included hanging posters in school buses. This aims to develop awareness amongst the students and parents to the importance of international tests which the MoE is participating in this year. The tests include an international program for the assessment of students PISA, this test contains reading skills, math, and science. An international test for Math and Science TIMSS, as well as an international test to measure the world reading progress PIRLS.
