Maktoum Foundation gives Dhs300,000 to AD University

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) yesterday announced that it had received Dhs300,000 in financial support from the Al Maktoum Foundation towards its Student Fund.

Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU, received the cheque for the amount from Mizra Al Sayegh, Director-General at the Office of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Al Maktoum College Board of Directors at a special ceremony in the presence of Sherif Mousa, Interim Vice Chancellor at ADU and Dr Nicholas Rees, Associate Provost at ADU.

Speaking on the occasion, Mizra Al Sayegh said: “In line with the core priority of the UAE leadership to strengthen the education sector in the country and as per the directives of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this financial contribution will provide much-needed support to outstanding students at ADU and enable them to achieve their dreams. In addition, it reinforces the strong relationship that Al Maktoum Foundation and Abu Dhabi University share and our sustained efforts in ensuring the UAE’s graduates receive best-in-class education and skills empowerment.”

Al Dhaheri in turn expressed his appreciation to the Al Maktoum Foundation on behalf of the university for its close cooperation that goes a long way in enabling deserving students to access the best possible education across disciplines.
