Dubai University participates in the opening ceremony of National Charity Schools in Sharjah

Dubai, September 3, 2014: Dr. Issa Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai , participated in the opening ceremony of the National Charity Schools in Sharjah last Monday. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Arif Shaikh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the school, and members of the Board, as well as Hamdan Kashari Chairman of the Parents Board of the school, and a number of professors, administrators and heads of departments from Juma Al Majid Group , as well as a large gathering of students.

The ceremony included an overview of the contributions of H.E. Juma Al Majid , founder of National Charity Schools, in the UAE's education field, and a review of the achievements of the school. A school tour was also organized during which the participants attending the ceremony met with a number of students and professors.
 
In a speech on the occasion, Dr. Issa Bastaki emphasized the importance of developing the education process, and quoted H.E. Juma Al Majid to state that "education is the best donation you can give". Stressing that education is a fundamental element in the development of societies and civilizations, Dr. Bastaki highlighted the great attention given by the country's leadership and the government for the development of education sector in accordance with international best standards. He also expressed appreciation for the positive role of schools and universities as well as all the employees in the education sector.
 
 
Dr. Bastaki commended Dr. Kamal Farhat, general manager of National Charity Schools, for his interest in providing the best level of education to students in the country. He pointed out that an agreement was signed recently between the National Charity Schools and the University of Dubai , in line with the university's strategy of expanding cooperation with leading educational institutions in the UAE. The agreement also aims to grant higher education opportunities, including facilities and partial tuition offered by the University of Dubai , for excellent students in all branches of the school. It also provides for cooperation in executive development programs, research, seminars, and conferences.
 
The HSBC Bank has supported the new branch of the school, located in Sharjah's Qadisiyah area, by providing all the necessary furniture and equipment, especially for the classrooms which accommodate nearly 700 students.
