7th grade pupils go high tech on education
Engineer Mohamed Ghiath, Director-General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Intelligent Education, has revealed that all teachers and students of the seventh grade have been supplied tablet computers and laptops.
He noted that more than 114 government schools were equipped with latest technology iPads and high-speed Internet connections.
Ghiath added that the classrooms were equipped with smart boards allowing teachers to deliver digital course content downloadable from the Apple Store or from the ministry’s website.
Ghiath stressed the importance of enabling students to learn the language of the modern era and the use of tools of modern technology to contribute to the promotion of government policies and the country’s vision of being able to compete at the global level.
He stressed the importance of enabling teachers and administrators to practise the art of modern education and ways to develop modern leadership.
Ghiath said the experimental phase of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for smart learning was launched at the beginning of the academic year 2012, which included the second phase of basic education in 14 public schools.
He stressed that the programme is being implemented according to plan and that the teachers have been well trained to deliver the programme, on how best to interact with students and on the use of the various applications on tablets.
