The ability to read fluently and comprehend what is being read is essential for success in education and in life. However, many students struggle with literacy because they lack the foundational skills necessary to become proficient readers. In this workshop, "From Phonics to Fluency: Building Strong Literacy Foundations," participants will learn strategies for helping students develop the critical skills they need to become strong readers. Participants will explore the components of literacy instruction, including phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants will learn how to assess students' literacy skills and design targeted instruction to meet their specific needs. They will also learn about evidence-based instructional practices and how to implement them in their own classrooms.
