Dr Nadine Akkari

Associate Professor

Jeddah International College

Nadine Akkari received her Ph.D. degree in Next Generation Networks from the National Superior School of Telecommunications (ENST, Paris), France, in 2006. She worked as associate professor with the faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 2009 till 2019. Dr. Nadine has conducted many international-funded projects.   She is currently an associate professor with Jeddah International College, Computer Science department. Dr. Akkari is an editorial board member of Elsevier Journal AdHoc Networks and a senior at IEEE.   Her current research interests are in 5G, 6G, smart cities, and IoT.

Reimagining the higher education: innovation and practices

As the future of education will be based on innovative teaching practices, the talk will present the innovative AI tools and solutions that are to be considered at universities to enhance the learning process and students engagement. The main issue is for the leaders in the higher education to define a roadmap or a strategy to foster continuous improvement and innovation. In this context, an overview of the challenges of an AI- based approach will be discussed highlighting the current problems and barriers. Finally, the future of education in the age of the unprecedented technical evolution will be highlighted.
