Hanan Al Mahmoud, an Emirati citizen, is the Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women Sports. She is also a member of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and is the Vice Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Arab Women Sports Tournament 2024. Through her roles in the sports field, Hanan hopes to inspire a generation of female sports leaders who can design and apply a model of sports excellence and athleticism for Emirati women, as well as influence the spread of a sport-led healthy lifestyle amongst society.
From 2012 to 2023 Hanan has served as CEO of Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre. During that tenure her responsibilities included team project management pre-launch, recruitment and team building, hospitality product and service design, business development and tie-ups, event organizing, financial planning, and investments and acquisitions. The centre has positioned itself under her leadership to be the number 1 event destination of the Emirate, and has hosted over 3000 events welcoming more than a million satisfied visitors.
Prior to that, Hanan was Head of Business Management at Sharjah Ladies Club, managing 200 employees in 14 POS facilities, with 3,500 active offered services and products. She had previously been Marketing & Events Coordinator at the Club, managing more than 50 events of different scales, overseeing planning and implementation.
Hanan is actively involved in a multitude of social causes in the UAE, serving in leadership positions for several crucial initiatives. She currently sits on several boards and committees, including the Board of Trustees for the Rubu’ Qarn Establishment, the Board of Trustees of the Shaikha Jawaher Al Qasimi Award for Sports Excellence , the Advisory Board of Taalouf Holding, and the Consultative Committee for the Sharjah Ladies Club. She has also served as Board Member of the Sharjah Sports Council and Head of the Standing Investment Committee at it for 4 years.
Her previous CSR volunteer positions also include several community serving roles, spanning from educational initiatives, to organizing charity concerts, to managing the marketing of awareness campaigns. She has also actively taken interest in mentoring aspiring future leaders, both officially and voluntarily.
Hanan holds a graduated-with-honors B.S in Management Information Systems & Marketing from the University of Sharjah. She is also a graduate of the 1-year Leadership Program of Sharjah Capability Development, has completed a Leadership Focus Program affiliated with the University of San Diego, a Professional Development Program, and is a certified International Protocol Specialist from the International Protocol Institute of California.
Apart from the above, Hanan is a mother of 3 who is passionate about arts, writing, film, music, photography, and is extremely committed to self development and helping others reach their full potential.
